NECCOG animal services is always looking for persons that want to help our program succeed. We try to place every animal and make sure that all needed veterinary care is given our animals. This takes people and money – often more than we have.
Our program and shelter facility is highly dependent on volunteers to clean, feed, interact and walk our animals. Our needs are great and the hours are flexible. Volunteering is a serious commitment and not just a way to “play with the animals.” In order to volunteer you must provide proof of medical insurance and be up-to-date on tetanus vaccination. You must also be 18 years of age to volunteer independently in the shelter. If you can help, take a look below and give us a call or submit an application.
- Dog Kennel Cleaners
- Dog Groomers/Cleaners

Making a donation (monetary or otherwise) is simple and is a great way to help our program and the animals we serve. NECCOG has specific funds set up to accept your donations. Please check with your tax advisor to find out if your donation is tax deductible – NECCOG is a government entity. NECCOG has established the following funds:
- Spay/Neuter Fund – This fund allows NECCOG the ability to spay or neuter each animal before they are adopted. Unfortunately, we do not have the funds to do this as a regular course of business.
- Medical Assistance Fund – Some animals come in with special medical needs or injuries that are not part of our routine veterinary care. This fund allows us to provide full care to our animals. On occasion we will highlight animals with special needs – allowing for specific animal donations.
Bring donations to the Shelter at 125 Putnam Pike during business hours, Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. or mail to P.O. Box 759, Dayville, CT 06241 for monetary donations. Please do NOT leave donations outside when the Shelter is closed; we only accept them during hours we are open. Thank you.
